(original post)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"post-header\">\n<h1 class=\"post-title\">EdTech SLAM!<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Join us over at \u2014 where we will host an Educational Technology SLAM! We will be showcasing technology tips, tricks, and tools that are conducive to learning.\u00a0<b>All are welcome to attend and enjoy these free presentations.<\/b><\/p>\n<h1><b>What is a SLAM!?<\/b><\/h1>\n<p>Each presenter provides a three-minute overview that outlines the benefits, accessibility, use cases, challenges and solutions, and major usage tips for a technology or tool of their choice. This isn\u2019t your typical slidedeck presentation. Presenters will actively show their tips and experience using the very tools they\u2019re discussing. Presentation Themes<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Each time the event is hosted, we invite participants to submit a SLAM! idea for one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/DpK_brdW0AEBywQ.jpg:large\"><i>Seven C\u2019s for Classifying Learning and Teaching Apps<\/i><\/a><i>(@danielharding and @Matthew_Street,\u00a0<\/i>2018, CC BY-SA). For our first event, we simply invite our presenters to pick a tool and use case that enable you and\/or your students to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Captivate (Create interactive learning opportunities that engage)<\/li>\n<li>Capture (Record and event, activity or artefact)<\/li>\n<li>Check (Gauge students\u2019 understanding)<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate (Acts as a platform for collaboration and co-creation)<\/li>\n<li>Connect (Communicate with students in real time or asynchronously)<\/li>\n<li>Create (Build learning resources, from scratch or remixing existing materials)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Curate (Collect, organize, and share content)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Participate in Our First SLAM!<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Our first SLAM! will take place on\u00a0<b>\u2014<\/b>\u00a0where presenters rapidly showed off tools, tips, and tricks ranging from web tools to classroom apps. If you are interested in presenting an edtech tool use case please\u00a0complete the survey\u00a0to present your ideas.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Agenda<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Welcome (5 min)<\/li>\n<li>7-10 presentations\u00a0<i>(3 minute slams)<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Conclusion (5 min)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Thinking about community, this might be something I end up bringing to ACCP-CAID as an\u00a0<em>Instructional Design SLAM<\/em>. I think it would be something the USASK ID Group could do as an activity to build community across edtechs at campus.
