Building on prior Designers for Learning projects, this Open Adult Basic Education (Open ABE) Service-MOOC focused on the instructional design of open educational resources (OER) for adult education. Over 1,600 students enrolled in the first offering of the Open ABE service-MOOC and over 100 free OER are now available for use by adult educators on OER Commons.

Open ABE Service-MOOC Facilitators:
Volunteering as Open ABE Service-MOOC I offered my experience as an instructional designer. Facilitators carried out the following tasks:
Requested commitment: 4 hours per week for the duration of the course.
Responsibilities:
- provided feedback and support to those enrolled in the Open ABE Service-MOOC regarding the instructional design project.
- Volunteering with a panel of other course facilitators, I offered guidance and responses to questions within the course discussion forum, and participated in live webinars during the MOOC.
