This post on What Makes a Learning Technologist popped up on the ALT blog the other day (h/t Stephen Downes). Up until this point, I can only think of Clint Lalonde bringing up the title Learning Technologist.

Right out of the gate, we have interesting responses from their responses to a questionnaire (n=38). What’s not presented here is the relationships between some of these questions. How many from the Wanted a different title response comprise the Got a different title response, etc?
Learning design is mostly perceived as facilitating and coordinating the creativity, collaboration and communication of the vision and development of online courses and resources. But some learning design roles are more technical based, i.e. producing learning and teaching materials.
The post ends with a list of current and desired job titles. What will be interesting to see (at least I hope we get to see them in future posts) are what some of the daily activities, or accountabilities would be for each of these roles. A giant Venn diagram may be in order.
