Dear Instructional Designer Interview

I’ve been listening to the Dear ID podcast for a little over 2 years now. If you’re an instructional designer, either in higher ed, elearning, freelancing, or other, you should listen to this podcast. I’ve listened to a number of ID podcasts, and this is the one that has stuck with me the longest. This season Kristin is interviewing IDs about their journey into freelancing. I found it fascinating, as there was a time when I thought I would like to try my hand at creating my own little ID company and working as a freelancer. If you know me, you’ll know that that didn’t last very long and that I bounced back into higher ed pretty quickly.

I am humbled to have been a guest on the show, and glad to have finally connected with Kristin in real time. Check out the podcast:

Over the past few years, I’ve chatted with a number of people who are looking to break into ID or are new to the work that we do. Hands down I always recommend the Dear ID podcast, but also Kristin’s course Go Design Something: Building Your Job Winning Portfolio. I went through the course and it inspired me to up my portfolio game as well. Enjoy!
