As someone who does instructional design, I bet you’d guess this would be an opportunity for me to slam ADDIE, or SCORM, or some other ID/edtech punching bag. Nope. This time around I’m going to leave them alone because, at least as acronyms, they work. Working in higher ed and ID/edtech in particular you run into so many initialisms pretending to be acronyms. So the acronyms I can do without are actually all the initialisms. I have nothing against the organization, but STLHE would be one example. If I can’t easily recognize how to pronounce it/everyone I know pronounces it differently it completely defeats the point.
Side note: being in Canada and participating in this challenge is great because I get to see others’ answers early in the day. I think Nick Black hit today’s challenge on the head
