What a great question, because it’s vague. If I take VLE to mean the same as LMS (Learning Management System on this side of the pond) then I would say Canvas. Over the past year we’ve moved from Blackboard to Canvas, and yes that is as much fun to do during a pandemic as you might have guessed (honestly though, it’s heartening to see multiple units, staff, faculty, and students work through this together as successfully as we did).
But if I think about this more broadly, as a Virtual Learning Environment in MY life, then I might have to say the #1 spot goes to Feedly. I bring in feeds across topics from digital pedagogy, to edtech and elearning, to education broadly, journal subscriptions, job boards, visual design, UX/UI, and more. I learn so much from all of the authors out there who are keeping the blogosphere going strong.
