Alan reflects on his experience teaching courses like DS106 and doing some of the assignments along side his students and how it helps him to refine those assignments and course materials generally. Currently eCampus Ontario is going through their extend MOOC and Alan decided to participate in the curate module himself, even earning a badge. The lessons learned/observations he points out should give instructors and IDs pause. Do you ever read through your own course materials and connect the dots? Do you ever do your own assignments? Would you even want to do your own assignments? In a way, I see a bit of overlap between these questions and the concept of open or ‘non-disposable’ assignments. Food for thought.

Thanks for reading- and making me realize I had a typo in the title, now fixed (switched it up too quickly after writing)
In my rush to quick comment I didn’t notice either. I’ve updated the post as well!
